Architecture

Understanding and developing the overall architecture, including data ownership, security and operating model, of the "source to report" is vital for the long term smooth running of any system.   I have worked with the SAS, Teradata and Oracle FS data models, as well as developing ones of my own

Analysis and Design

Working with stakeholders from all levels of the business I have designed and implemented new and innovative ways of exploiting existing business data to enable better and faster business decision making. Using disparate data sources we determine the data needed to support the reporting requirement.

Information Delivery

Sourcing the data for reporting is only part of any solution. Allowing easy and intuitive access to both existing reports and surfacing data for discovery reporting is far more important. Amongst other things, I have designed and developed an MI Intranet Reporting Suite and a workflow driven report production control suite: both using the SAS BI portal. I can draw upon strong skills in many web technologies including XML, JSON and asynchronous processes, so I understand the art of the possible.

Performance

I have analysed systems, processes and code and made them perform better: from optimising the environment and system options, down to changes to code and program flow. Savings of several hours run time are often achievable. This in turn reduces capacity requirements leading to significant cost savings.t

Risk

An ex-internal auditor, I design and develop with risk management and compliance in mind. I always find that going the extra mile to include appropriate controls yields benefits in the short term as well as the long term.

Value

I always try to exceed expectations, delivering what I believe to be exceptional value to my clients.
