Performance Issues
Are caused by the Environment not having the Capacity to support the Workload.
The Environment is the hardware, operating system and software components.
The Workload is the user code, input and output data, and reports.
They happen because of failures in Governance.
Drivers can be Time; Financial; Resource availability ; and Experience
Fixing it
I analyse methodically.
Starting with the biggest problems, I identify the underlying causes and fix those first. Hardware. System Options. Bottlenecks. Code.
Depending on what was wrong, sometimes performance issues can just go away....
...but more often there are multiple issues to resolve.
I aim to fix the Governance Issues too, by putting in place enough controls over the way things are done.
